About NST
Who we are and what we do
For young people, teachers, group leaders and parents, NST is the UK’s educational travel company. We’ve been creating school trips in the UK, Europe and worldwide which educate, inspire and enable children to develop a sense of independence for over 50 years.
Our vision is to have a lasting, positive impact on the development of young people by delivering educational experiences which expand horizons, unlock potential and create positive memories.
Every day, our focus is upon being the easiest tour operator to deal with, delighting our customers with our experience, knowledge and passion.
In the beginning...
Back in 1967, Vin Craven, a former Maths teacher, founded a travel company which provided coach tours for schools in the north of England. The business grew rapidly over the years – as did our experience and expertise. NST gradually began to service schools across the UK, and in 1992, we began to offer air tours.
Fast forward to today...
Today, we are a leading force in the world of school travel, creating school trips which are tailor-made to support groups in getting the very most out of their time away.
Our study tours for high schools and colleges cover over 15 secondary school subjects, and our school trips for primary groups cater for around 10 areas of the primary curriculum. We take over 100,000 children away to more than 50 secondary-friendly and primary-friendly school visit destinations across the world each year – so you can have every confidence in us.
Along with our sister company, StudyLink Tours, we’re part of a market leading educational & activity travel group operating in the UK and Europe.
Our people
At the heart of our success are our people. Quite simply, no-one goes further to bring education to life.
Our people are the life blood of our organisation – it’s their ideas, commitment, knowledge and enthusiasm that helps us deliver market leading school visit experiences to our customers time and time again.
We employ over 130 people in our Blackpool head office, from Educational Tour Co-ordinators to health & safety professionals. A lot goes in to creating a tour, and each and every one of our team members are passionate about the part they play in providing the very best experiences for school groups.
