School trips to York provide an incredible learning experience for children of all ages, particularly primary school groups who are looking to learn more about one of the most iconic Roman cities in the UK.
Rich in ancient history, there seems to be a remarkable attraction at the end of every winding, cobbled street – from York Minster to The Shambles (famed setting of Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley).
In addition to the unique architecture, York is also teeming with wonderful museums and galleries that cover a range of interesting topics. Your class with never be short of things to see and do, that’s for sure!
The nearby coastal towns of Scarborough and Whitby provide an opportunity for pupils to search the rocky shore of Robin Hood's bay for current and Jurassic habitats and discover how over 1,500 years of history make Whitby Abbey one of England’s most important archaeological sites.
